Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions we’re often asked by school groups who visit us:

Do have storage facilities at Cadbury World?
Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to hold or store any type of baggage or packed lunches. You will have to keep them with you as you tour Cadbury World or keep your items on the coach if permitted.
How long will our visit last?
The average walk around the exhibition itself lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes, not including the Bournville Experience for which you should allow roughly 30 minutes. There's also a playground, two shops, a restaurant and a picnic area. In total, most of our visitors spend around 3 hours on site, more in school holidays when we provide free children’s entertainment. Click here to navigate to events page.
Is it a guided tour?
No, you walk around Cadbury World at your own pace, starting at the beginning, and ending at the end! There are plenty of staff along the way to lend a hand or answer any questions you might have.
Is it a factory tour?
Cadbury World is a visitor centre - because of food regulations we can’t open up our whole factory to the public. But you will see part of it - the packaging plant, where chocolate is wrapped and put into boxes for distribution. Please note that sometimes the production line might be down, so we can’t always guarantee that it will be running.
Where are you?
Do we have to book before visiting?
To guarantee you’ll get in, yes. Additional information on reservations. Click here to book tickets.
Are you allowed to bring cameras and camcorders in?
Yes - cameras and camcorders can be used on site, except in the Packaging Plant and on the Cadabra ride.
Is there coach parking?
Yes – there is adequate free parking on site.
Can you send me some information for a school project?
Useful information covering many areas of the curriculum can be found on www.skillspace.co.uk and also on www.cadbury.co.uk . If you’d like further information, send an A4 SAE to Consumer Relations, Cadbury Limited, Bournville Lane, Bournville, Birmingham B30 2LU.
Do people have to bring packed lunches?
You’re welcome to bring packed lunches, but we do have a Cadbury World self-service café, which is situated off the Reception area. Lunches and light snacks, hot and cold drinks are available during opening hours (hot lunch choices are available 11.30am-3pm). When it’s busy, a range of hot and cold snacks and refreshments is also available from a kiosk in the Play Area. Schools can also take advantage of our Packed Lunch Deal to make things simple on your trip.
Do you have people to supervise school groups?
No, but for every 10 students a member of school staff goes free.
Please note that students are not allowed in the packaging plant unsupervised.
Is there a minimum / maximum group size?
The minimum group size is 15. We don’t have a maximum size but do talk to us if you have any concerns.
If a child is sick on the day and can’t come do you give a refund?
Yes we do – let us know the details when you arrive at the booking desk.
Is anyone available to talk to our class?
Yes, our Education Manager gives talks, but you’ll need to book one with your trip. Click here for information on Education Talks. Link to talks
