What to expect from a Design Technology Workshop
Bring your topic to life with our interactive curriculum-linked workshop, presented in our themed education rooms by our dedicated team.
Discuss the different reasons behind the designs of some popular Cadbury chocolate bars and see how the design of the bar is linked to the wrapper and the advert. See real-life Cadbury chocolate moulds used in the Bournville Cadbury factory!
Take a closer look at Cadbury packaging and how this has evolved over the last 100 years - evaluate the limitations of designs as pupils put their own minds to the test and create their own! Various Cadbury props will be provided to help students express their imaginations.
Students have the chance to present and reflect on their design with the opportunity to peer assess each other's ideas - a mini introduction into the design process in a real-life context.
Watch exclusive video footage from inside the factory giving students an insight into how Cadbury creatively make chocolate bars in different shapes and sizes, such as the Cadbury Curly Wurly!
Secondary Curriculum – Key Stage 3 Design and Technology: Students will have the opportunity to use their imagination and design a Cadbury wrapper in small groups; critiquing and evaluating peers on design presentation. This workshop will provide students with a real-life perspective on design evolution for Cadbury packaging including hands-on creative opportunities.
Due to the interactive nature of this workshop a maximum of 30 pupils is required.
