What to expect from a Bean to Bar talk
Bring your topic to life with our interactive curriculum-linked talk, presented in our themed education rooms by our dedicated team.
Get hands on with real Ghanaian cocoa beans as students discover the ingredients used to make chocolate and where these originate from around the world.
Follow the cocoa bean on its journey through history. First being used as a bitter drink enjoyed by The Mayans and Aztecs.
Students have the chance to dress up as a real factory worker as they explore how the Cadbury factory manufacture popular products.
Watch exclusive video footage from inside the factory and look and feel real life chocolate moulds giving students an insight into how Cadbury creatively make chocolate bars in different shapes and sizes, such as the Cadbury Curly Wurly!
Discuss the role of Cocoa Life and Fairtrade and why this is important to us today, plus reflect on some of the iconic Cadbury advertisements as students look at the role of packaging.
Curriculum Links
Primary Curriculum – Nutrition, IPC Chocolate Topic and Scrumdiddlyumptious: Students will gain an understanding of where cocoa comes from, how as an ingredient it is grown and processed plus the cocoa beans significance to ancient civilisations, The Maya and The Aztecs.

The Cadbury World Experience
Alongside our popular talks, Cadbury World offers a unique experience that gives fascinating insight into the rich heritage of the nation's favourite chocolate brand, enjoyed by more than 2,000 school groups each year.
Your self-guided tour will begin in the Jungle, where your pupils can discover the ancient Mayan origins of the cocoa bean, surrounded by trees and waterfalls.
A variety of zones then showcase the history and making of chocolate, featuring the heritage of Bournville village and the Cadbury brothers. Our chocolatiers will reveal the traditional methods of chocolate making and you will explore how Cadbury manufacture popular products. 100 years of innovative advertising and packaging is presented with interactive games and exhibits.
Take an adventurous journey in our 4D Chocolate Adventure cinema experience, enjoy the magical Cadabra ride and experience a world of digital chocolate delights in the interactive Purple Planet experience. Explore all of our zones here.
Sample Itinerary
- Arrival on your coach to Bournville, with free coach parking and admission for your driver.
- Take the Cadbury World exhibition tour through our amazing zones, lasting around 1.5hrs.
- Enjoy your packed lunch by the outdoor play area either at picnic benches or under the cover of our marquee. Lunch can also be purchased in the Cadbury Café.
- Expand your knowledge with a 1 hour interactive topic talk by member of our dedicated education team.
- Take the 4D Chocolate Adventure cinema experience, complete with motion seats!
